Pelabuhan Ratu or Palabuhan Ratu (Sundanese for: Harbor of the Queen) is a town located in the Sukabumi Regency. Located at the southwest coast of West Java facing Indian Ocean. It is called the “Harbour of the Queen” because local legend has it that a Goddess of the South Seas Nyai Loro Kidul roams these seas. Swimmers are warned not to wear green and not to swim in the ocean and if drownings occur they are attributed to this malevolent Goddess.
